Student Services

Life, Learning and Leadership

First Baptist Academy’s Student Services department offers a continuum of services to meet the varying needs of our students.  We believe that each student has been uniquely designed by our Creator, and our goal is that every student would thrive at FBA regardless of their ability. Elementary Student Services offers language arts enrichment groups in grades one and two. Skill remediation is also provided for grades one through five in specific areas of the curriculum such as reading, language, spelling, and math. The goal is to integrate these students back into the classroom as quickly as possible. Middle and high school students may enroll in FBA’s Resource Program.  The Resource Program offers content support at the upper levels, as well as more concentrated long term support for elementary students. Once enrolled in the program, accommodations may be made in the regular classroom or the student may be pulled out of class for further help in a particular subject. Students may enroll 2-8 periods per week as necessary. The Resource Program tuition is in addition to regular tuition.  Mrs. Nancy Powers and Mrs. Marilou Mastrangelo offer over forty years of teaching experience, and hold master’s degrees in reading and education.

All referrals must be approved by administration. If you feel that your child needs extra academic help, please contact your child's teacher.
