    • Yes….all staff will be back in session Friday the 22nd

We will leave signage on the affected areas until that unit is done.

  • Are campus facilities clean, secure, and safe?

  • What about the playground equipment?

    • The playground equipment has been inspected and the swing chains are in the process of being replaced.

  • Will there be any changes to carlines?

    • No changes to carlines.

  • Will there be any changes to student or staff parking?

    • Due to the ongoing hurricane relief efforts taking place on campus, until further notice, we are asking students and staff to park in front of the Commons or ES building.

MOVING FORWARD

  • How will missed days be addressed?

    • At this time, due to missed school days August 31st and September 6th-22nd, amendments will be made to the 2017-18 school calendar and are pending. Some of the days will be made up and waivers from the state for some days will be assessed and applied.

  • Will classwork and homework become make-up work?

    • We plan to review material covered before the storm, introducing new materials a few days later.

    • We will not be sending home make-up work to help catch our classes up on what was missed while closed.

Saturday, September 16, 2017 - Status of FBA Athletics

Dear FBA Families,

In an effort to restart our Fall Sports Programs, High School athletic practices will begin this coming week (Sept 18-22.)  As a Leadership Team and Coaching Staff we are very sensitive to the effects the Hurricane has had on your family. We also understand the benefits of moving forward the best we can.  This upcoming week of athletic conditioning and competition will give our students and families venues to fellowship, share neighborly love, and the opportunity to rally around our school re-opening 4HG!  Helping our students gain a sense of safety, calm, and "normalcy" is one of our top priorities.

Our high school coaches have already been in contact with many of their athletes and we feel this is the most effective way of communication.  We completely understand and are sensitive to any student who, for whatever reason, cannot be at practice and will do our best to help that family in need.  Below you will see some information on our Fall Sports Teams and the next scheduled contest for each sport (with the exception of Golf.)  Pending county curfews, many of these practices will be coordinated to not conflict with disaster relief efforts staged all over campus.

We realize hydration is an important aspect of our return to athletics and our athletic department is fully addressing the health, safety, and abundance of hydration for our student athletes.

By God's grace and strength we are rebuilding together and rallying to see our school reopen

  • We as a leadership team recognize and acknowledge the devastation that hurricane Irma has imposed on our community and more specifically our families. Some of us have experienced catastrophic loss and others are recovering from varying degrees of disaster.

  • We realize that many families have been temporarily displaced and others continue to wait for power and water to be restored. We are also aware of the ongoing challenges related to water, sewer, and gas. As these issues are getting resolved, be assured that we will work with each of our families' academic needs in our shared transition back to school.

  • From the moment the storm passed, the church and school leaders and staff have worked tirelessly to complete structural inspections, cleaning and sanitizing, along with addressing safety and security concerns for you to feel confident and comfortable returning your children to FBA.

  • We are currently reviewing the makeup days and requesting waivers from the state for some of those days.

    • Opportunities to serve also exist on the campus of FBCN.  Here is a link to sign up to serve.

  • Spread the Word

    • Not everyone is getting email and we have found the follow ways are best to get word to people:

      • In person (nothing beats face to face contact)

      • By text (many are receiving texts even though phone & internet aren't working)

      • Facebook (many are checking these when they get into cell service)
