Using Testing at FBA High School

Recently our Sophomores and Juniors took the national PSAT exam. Most schools only administer this exam to Juniors as a part of the national Merit Scholarship Foundation; however, First Baptist Academy administers it to Sophomores as an opportunity to practice and receive results to better prepare them for the next year.

Each junior, along with their parents, will receive his or her results in a private meeting with our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Sarah Crain. In this meeting, Mrs. Crain will give each junior their own college planner. Included in this planner is all of their own testing including the PLAN and PSAT results, further options for ACT/SAT test preparation, college application information as well as scholarship information. This planner is a great resource to use during the college planning and application process.

The results of these tests are analyzed by the administration. This analysis helps to guide changes in curriculum and/or methodology to continue improving academic delivery. Our teachers also analyze the College Board’s College Readiness Standards against our current curriculum to ensure rigor within each subject area.
