Dear Parents,

Greetings, and welcome back to a new school year! Exciting things are happening at First Baptist Academy, and I am looking forward to partnering with you to make this the best year possible!

First Look will be held on Monday, August 14th. The evening at will begin for all families at 6 p.m. in the Cafeteria for a brief meeting. The rest of the evening will be a structured program for you to hear from each of your student’s teachers. Teachers will communicate about class objectives, homework and grading policies, and parent involvement to help your student succeed. I am excited by this opportunity for our teachers to share with you. To help you better plan for the evening below is an outline of the schedule:

6:00      All School HS Parent Meeting (Cafeteria)
6:30 – 6:37 1st Period*
6:40 – 6:47 2nd Period
6:50 – 6:57 3rd Period
7:00 – 7:07 4th Period
7:10 – 7:17 5th Period
7:20 – 7:27 6th Period
7:30 – 7:37 7th Period
7:40 - 7:47 8th Period
8:00 9th Grade Class Meeting (Student Center)

*All 1st Period Elective Teachers will be available in the Gym. Throughout the evening, yearbooks will be on sale.

Students are welcome to set up lockers (2017/18 locker numbers are now in RenWeb on your student’s schedule) and visit friends throughout the event.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Class of 2015 was the largest class in FBA History.

  • Class of 2015 had the first ever National Merit Commended Scholar.

  • The Class of 2015 earned more than $3.7 million in college scholarships.

  • 84% of the high school student body participate in the athletic program.

  • Currently FBA fields teams in 11 different sports with 47 coaches.

  • Over the years FBA has seen 15 district championships in basketball, baseball, track and field, football, and volleyball. In 2012, the football team brought home the Regional Championship.

  • 15 FBAHS student-athlete alumni have committed to participate at the collegiate level.

  • Students have placed in both All State Band and Honors Orchestra.

  • Our Fine Arts program participates in ACSI Solo and Ensemble Festivals, Art Festivals and Speech Meet where Superior and Excellent ratings were earned.

  • At the Music USA Festival our Band, Strings, Vocal Ensemble and Worship Team competed and received excellent and Superior ratings with 1st place standings.
