Leigh Anne Bates
High School Principal
Leigh Anne joined FBA in 2011. She is the High School Principal. Leigh Anne has her Bachelor’s Degree from Dickinson College and she received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. She has taught middle school and high school history. She also served as assistant principal and principal of Rockford Christian Middle and High School. Leigh Anne enjoys spending time with family, reading, and being in the sun!
Jason Crain
Social Studies Teacher
Jason was born and raised in southern Ohio. During his college years, he attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago before graduating from Asbury University in May 2000 where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in History. Additionally, Jason holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. Jason holds certificates with ACSI in the areas of Secondary Social Studies and All Levels Principal and with the state of Florida in the areas of Grades 6-12 Social Sciences and Educational Leadership. Jason teaches the following 9th, 10th & 12th grade social studies classes at FBA: World Geography Honors, World History Honors, and American Government Honors/Economics Honors. Jason has also taught a Rhetoric/Speech class as an elective and two middle school classes at FBA.
Sarah Crain
Guidance Counselor
Sarah was born in Fort Myers, FL and lived there the majority of her life. She graduated from a local Christian school in 2000. After high school, she attended Edison College and received an Associate's in Arts Degree. Sarah graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic in May of 2004 with a BA in Communication and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, Sarah began working for Keiser Career College as an admissions coordinator and eventually became the Senior Admissions Coordinator. Sarah and her husband moved to southwest Florida where she began working for Evangelical Christian School as a guidance counselor. Sarah currently serves as the guidance counselor for FBAHS.
Kim Doria
English
Kimberly was born in Lynchburg, Virginia but grew up in Winston-Salem, NC. Kimberly received her Bachelor’s degree in English from Charleston Southern University. She comes to FBA with 12 years experience from Collier County Public Schools were she has taught both middle and high school English, along with TV Production and Mass Media. She has served as Student Council Advisor, Senior Class Advisor and Yearbook advisor. She has her teaching certificate through the state of Florida in English and an Endorsement for English as a second language. She is married to Mario Doria, FBA’s head baseball coach and they have 4 amazing children ranging in ages from 2-13 years old. Kimberly is teaching English I and English III.
Matt Jansen
Social Studies and Physical Education Teacher
Matt was born and raised in Kimberly, WI. Coach Jansen is a graduate of Kimberly High School in Kimberly, WI. He graduated from the University Of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and Education. Matt also received a MS degree in Education Leadership Minnesota State University of Moorhead. Coach Jansen is certified to teach social studies, physical education and health, and driver education in the state of Florida. Matt taught and coached at Barron Collier High School and at Pope High School in Marietta, GA. Throughout the course of his teaching career Coach Jansen has taught U.S. History, World History, Sociology, Psychology, Algebra, physical education, and driver education. Coach Jansen currently teaches U.S. History Honors and Athletic Period. Matt also serves as Defensive Coordinator for the FBAHS Football Team.
Rob Kantner
Bible Teacher
Rob was born in Winfield, Illinois, and was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Champion, Ohio. Rob is a graduate from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where he received a B.S. Degree in Exercise Physiology, as well as his Officer's Commission in the United States Army. Rob served for four years active duty in the military and spent one year in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. Rob also received his Master's of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Rob had served as a pastor for nine years in North Carolina. Rob has has a teaching certificate from ACSI. He taught two years in the public school system of North Carolina, and has been teaching Bible classes at FBAHS since 2006.
Jennifer Lines
Math Teacher
Jennifer joined the FBA staff in 2006. Before joining FBA, she previously taught math with Collier County Public Schools. Born and raised in Michigan, Jennifer moved to Naples in 1993 after graduating from Northwood University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Jennifer has a Florida Teaching Certificate in Middle School and High School Math, as well as an ACSI teaching certificate. She currently teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Math for College Readiness. Jennifer is the Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach. Jennifer enjoys scrapbooking, running, and spending time with her husdband Rick and daughters, Emily and Amanda.
Amanda McLean
Math and Science Teacher
Amanda is a native Floridian from Lake City in northeast Florida. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1995, then attended the University of Florida from 1995-2001. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences in 2000 and a Master’s of Engineering Degree in 2001. Amanda worked as an industrial hygiene technician for the University of Florida then as an environmental engineer for Hole Montes in Naples. She provided private tutoring and home schooling services in math and science for four years with Major Math and More in Naples. At First Baptist Academy High School Amanda teaches Physics, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, Chemistry and Algebra II Honors. Amanda also teaches Home Economics as an elective.

Rob Platter
Bible
Rob Platter is in his first year at First Baptist Academy. Rob grew up in Garland, Texas which is a suburb of Dallas. Rob and his wife Tina have two children, Ryan and Kaylee. Ryan is in 2nd grade at FBA and Kaylee will be one year old in October. Rob has taught band at the Middle School and High School level for 15 years in both public schools in McKinney, TX and Garland, TX, and private school at Garland Christian Academy. Rob surrendered to full time gospel ministry in 2003 and became a licensed minister in 2006. Rob received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas in 1995, and began work on his Masters degree in Church Music – Composition at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003. Rob and his family are extremely excited about serving the Lord here at First Baptist.
Nancy Powers
Student Resources
Nancy joined the FBA staff as a teacher in 2004. Although not a true native, Nancy moved to Naples with her family as a teenager and graduated from Naples Christian Academy. She went on to pursue a B.A. in Exceptional Student Education from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina followed by a M.Ed. from Georgia State University. Her teaching career began in Atlanta, Georgia where she taught for five years. In 1993, Nancy and her husband Jim moved back to Naples where she taught in Collier County Public Schools. Nancy has been teaching since 1988, and is certified by ACSI and the state of Florida to teach K-12. She and her husband have two children who attend FBA.
Paul Rosen
Spanish Teacher
Paul Rosen graduated from Carson-Newman College with a B.A. in Languages and received a Masters in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also received a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University. Paul has taught Portuguese and Spanish for the past 15 years in New York City.
Paul teaches Spanish I-IV at FBA. Mr. Rosen is married to Louisa and they have a son named Ethan.
Sonya Stearns
Language Arts, Choir and Worship Team Instructor
Sonya currently teaches Choir and Freshman Language Arts at FBAHS. She graduated from the University of Mobile, Alabama with a BA Degree in Vocal Music and minor in Religion. She also holds an ACSI Secondary Education Certificate, with a Bible endorsement. Sonya served as Director of Music at the First Baptist Church of Lilliian, Alabama and Youth/Youth Music Director at East Ridge Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas. She taught choir and Bible at Faith Academy in Mobile, Alabama, for three years, and private voice and basic music lessons. Sonya led the Alabama Independent Schools State Choral Music Festival in 1994 and continues to serve in various church ministries.years, and private voice and basic music lessons.
Jennifer Stephens
Science Teacher
Jennifer Stephens teaches High School Chemistry and Biology at FBA. She was born in Pennsylvania and raised in the northwestern region of Conneaut Lake. Jennifer studied at the University of Malta and was a graduate from Eastern Oregon University in 2003. She is certified through ACSI to teach Upper Level Science, and carries an endorsement in Chemistry. Prior to joining FBA facility in 2010, Jennifer previously taught two years at Fort Myers Christian School.
