Middle School Principal

John McGillicuddy was born and reared in Fort Myers, Florida.  He is a graduate of Piedmont Bible College with a ThB. and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary with a MDiv. with honors.  Before coming to FBA, he served as administrator for Anderson Christian School in Anderson, South Carolina.  He is currently the principal of First Baptist Academy Middle School.  He has been teaching the Word of God for thirty-eight years.  His passion is to train students in biblical world view so that they can articulate to others why they believe what they believe, to train students in Christ-centered character, and to train students to have a passion for pursuing truth in academics.  He and his wife Frances are enthusiastic fans of Duke Basketball.  They also enjoy their grandchildren, history, politics, bird watching, and fishing.

Singing Saints and Speech Teacher

Jill teaches Related Arts classes at FBA, including HS Worship Team, , 7th grade speech, middle school and elementary choir, kindergarten and preschool music.    Jill is certified through ASCI and the state of Florida and received her Music Education Degree from Oklahoma State University.  Jill enjoys serving the Lord by singing in the Worship Choir and praise teams at First Baptist Church Naples. She was also director of the Praise Kids Children Choir at FBCN for several years. In her spare time, Jill enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and making jewelry.

Lori was born and raised in Champion, Ohio.  She graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania with a BA in Elementary Education.  She also attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina while her husband attended seminary.  Lori loves to challenge her students to grow spiritually and academically in order bring glory and honor to the Lord.  She has taught for the Department of Defense Schools in Ft. Benning, Georgia and for Franklin County Schools in North Carolina.  She has been a teacher for over thirteen years and also served as a youth director for two and a half years in Douglas, Georgia.    She married her high school sweetheart, Rob Kantner and they have been married for over twenty three years.  They have four wonderful children, three of whom attend FBA.  Kaleb is a college student at FGCU, Laurin is a college student at FGCU, Jessica is in the 9th grade and Jack is in 1st Grade.  FBA has been such an amazing blessing for the Kantner family and Lori is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the staff at FBA.

Science

Jennifer was born in Hammond, IN. She moved from Indiana to Naples in 1999. She attended Clearwater Christian College and transferred to Florida Gulf Coast University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education – Biology. She previously taught for Collier County Public Schools where she taught reading, semantics & logic, math, and science. God led her to FBA in 2010 where she is teaching science and math. Jennifer enjoys kayaking, studying apologetics, and cooking.

Renee Pigg

Language Arts - 6th & 7th Grade

Although a native of North Carolina, Renee’ Pigg has lived in Florida since 1984.  She enjoys Florida’s sunny beaches and relaxing with a good book.  She graduated from USC-Spartanburg with a BA in Education.  She has been certified to teach in three states and has been teaching for over thirteen years.  Renee’ currently holds a Florida and an ACSI teaching certificate and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English.  She is married to Rev. Doug Pigg and they have three sons. Their two older sons are married and their youngest son is attending the College of Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  Mrs. Pigg says, “It is my desire that when a student leaves my class they will have a love for Jesus, a love for learning and a love for literature.”

Language Arts - 8th Grade / Student Services

Nancy joined the FBA staff as a teacher in 2004. Although not a true native, Nancy moved to Naples with her family as a teenager and graduated from Naples Christian Academy. She went on to pursue a B.A. in Exceptional Student Education from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina followed by a M.Ed. from Georgia State University. Her teaching career began in Atlanta, Georgia where she taught for five years. In 1993, Nancy and her husband Jim moved back to Naples where she taught in Collier County Public Schools.  Nancy has been teaching since 1988, and is certified by ACSI and the state of Florida to teach K-12. She and her husband have two children who attend FBA.

Spanish

Melissa  graduated from Western Carolina University with a BSEd. in Spanish Education.  She earned  a Master's Degree in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and post-graduate work in Administration from Nova Southeastern University. She has been teaching for twenty years.  Melissa is married to Tim and they have two sons.  God led her to FBA after 10 years in the public school system.   She loves reading, singing in the choir at First Baptist Church Naples, and watching her sons play sports and music.  Melissa was born and raised in Naples and loves being able to serve God in her beautiful home town.

Mary Works
Mary Works
Social Studies / History

Mary Works was born and raised in Warren, Michigan. She graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a BA in Elementary Education. She earned her MA degree from NKU. Mary has received several awards, including "Who's Who Among American Teachers-1996". Mary has taught in Michigan, Hawaii, Tennessee and Kentucky. She also served as a principal in Kentucky. Mary is married to Sonny and they have one son named Benjamin.
