At First Baptist Academy our mission is, "Partnering with parents to develop students with Christian character and a biblical worldview, equipping them for life, learning, and leadership.

It is the desire of FBA to assist parents in their God-given responsibility of educating their children, regardless of whether they choose a traditional school environment or choose to educate their children at home.  Our program enables parents who choose to home school to be a part of the FBA family and allows their children to participate in a variety of Academy experiences.

The purpose of the Home School Extension (HSE) of FBA is to help meet the spiritual, social, and educational needs of Christian families who are dedicated to the full time and rewarding task of educating their children primarily at home by utilizing the resources that God has provided through First Baptist Church of Naples and First Baptist Academy.

It is our hope that the Home School Extension program will grow both in participants and opportunities, and that we will be able to serve our church body, the community, and most importantly the Lord by bringing glory and honor to Him through this ministry.

Below, please find the necessary forms to enroll into the HSE program and the course offerings.  Also, there is a "Frequently Asked Questions" section to help better understand how the program operates. Lastly, there is a list of all the opportunities available to FBA Home School Extension students.  For specific days and times of courses or program questions, please contact our Admissions Director, Rebecca Curran at 239-597-2233 ext. 566.

The level of interaction will increase as a student progresses into the upper grades.  Please contact the Admissions Office to learn more.

What is the dress code for Extension students?

When home school students are registered for an on-campus academic class they are to follow the uniform or dress code guidelines of a regular day time student.  When attending non-academic events they should follow the dress down guidelines found on line in the Parent Student Handbook of the appropriate school.

What are the discipline policies for Extension students?

The discipline policies are the same as for the full time Academy students.

Will Extension students participate in graduation ceremonies?

Currently, Extension students will not take part in graduation.

Can Extension students take part in interscholastic athletic teams?

Students will be able to participate, provided they fulfill all of the necessary prerequisites and qualify under FHSAA guidelines for participation as a home school student: sports physical, FHSAA home school forms (EL7) completed and approved, and registration fees paid.  FHSAA does not permit students who are enrolled in School District Virtual School for 50% of their classes to participate as a homeschooled student.

Students registered with the school district as a home school student and take part-time or full-time classes through Florida Virtual School, are eligible to participate in FBA's Home School Extension program.  Because FBA sports teams play competitively, tryouts will be required for these teams.

There is a separate fee for sports participation.

Will students receive a report card?

FBA will not keep records or provide report cards.  If you choose to have your child take part in academic testing, you will be provided with a copy of those scores and the administrator will be available to review these scores with you.  Students who pay and sign up for individual classes (6-12th grade) will receive grades.

How will Extension families be kept “in the loop” with school activities in which we are eligible to participate?

Home School Extension families will have access to our schools communication source, RenWeb via ParentsWeb, where they can access school resources, calendars, events and announcements along with "Family Billing" to secure payment of lunch, sports and other school fees.  HSE families will also be included in school-wide communications, appropriate school level communications and classroom teacher communications.
