Stick of thunder bass drum Arts

Arts

First Baptist Academy provides a Visual and Performing Arts Program to foster and develop gifts, talents, and abilities for the glory of God. James 1:17a states, “Every good and perfect gift comes from above.”  We recognize that every student is uniquely created by the Master Designer, with a God-ordained purpose and plan. The connecting pages will provide you with an overview of each of the visual and performing arts courses.

During the school year, the Academy hosts numerous special events to provide opportunities for public performance.

Elementary Media Crew

FBA Media Crew is made of 5th graders that have applied for this position. They work on a monthly rotation as camera, sound and reporters. Our FBA morning TV News Crew is produced every morning using a variety of professional equipment such as a teleprompter. We have a daily weather and geography report. Students announce special events going on in our school such as football games, concerts and fund raisers.

The Media Crew has had several guests visit our media center. We have had some of our senior football players, coaches and our school nurse. We have also had Mrs. Betsy Evans; FBCN Children’s Ministry Director come to invite our school to participate in the FBCN Trunk or Treat and challenged our students to invite the community to come as well.

Percussion Ensemble Performs At Harbor Chase

The FBA 8th Grade Percussion Ensemble traveled to Harbor Chase on Monday, February 11.  The residents watched as our percussion ensemble performed African and Latin percussion ensemble music on drums and other percussion instruments.  The percussion ensemble earned rave reviews from the Harbor Chase residents and had an opportunity to show the love of Christ while mingling and talking with their audience.  Well done percussion ensemble students Melissa Accilio, Andrea Tello, Alejandra Perez, Andrew Monterosso, Caleb Harlem and Zach Gibson.

FBA Lions Related Arts - Guided Petting Zoo for Preschool
Spreading Christmas Joy through Music Enrichment

Middle School string and band students have invited Preschool 3 and 4 year olds, and Kindergarten classes to a live performance of a variety of Christmas music.  Younger students will listen and play along as the older students perform.  Younger students will also have an opportunity to touch and explore the instruments through a “guided petting zoo.”  Middle School students will spark Christmas joy and enrichment of music to the younger students during this performance.

Sticks of Thunder - FBA Drumline at Football Game

The new year has brought a renewed excitement in the Related Arts classes at FBA.  One of the most visible areas where our Related Arts classes show their dedication and excellence is at our High School football games.  This season is off to a great start for our Varsity Lions, as well as for our FBA Drumline and vocalists from our Choir and FBA Staff members.  The Middle School Band will be joining the FBA Drumline at the September 21 Varsity football game, as well as the Homecoming game on October 19.  It's a great time to be a Lion!
