Letter From the Preschool Director
Preschool Snapshot: A look at what makes us great
First Baptist Academy's Pre-Kindergarten is an exciting part of FBA.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14). Introducing Jesus to the heart of a child is a great joy and honor for the FBA Pre-Kindergarten staff. When it comes to the Pre-Kindergarten child, much more is "caught than taught," and at FBA we take this awesome responsibility seriously. A basic foundation of the child's concept of self, others, and God is established during these formative years. The Christian home and Pre-Kindergarten school must work together to promote this development to meet the spiritual and educational needs of the young child.
The goal of our curriculum is to stimulate the child's physical, mental, emotional, and social development while maintaining a strong spiritual emphasis throughout. The primary learning of young children takes place in play and in interactive learning experiences. Our curriculum provides a variety of play experiences, including art, dramatic play, science adventures, music, manipulative play, read-aloud stories and many other learning activiities.
The mission of First Baptist Academy's Pre-Kindergarten is to partner with parents in order to provide an environment where children, through discovery learning and play, can develop spiritually, academically, and socially.
In His Service,
Sherri Dorrill,
Pre-Kindergarten Director
